Punahou defeated host Kamehameha, 12-5, to win the Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls water polo championship yesterday.

The Buffanblu and Warriors will represent the ILH in the first Hawai'i High School Athletic Association girls water polo state tournament, May 13 to 15, at the University of Hawai'i's Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

Iolani beat Pac-Five, 11-1, for third place.

• Roosevelt, Kahuku in final: Keala Whitford and Stephanie Emery each scored three goals to lead Kahuku to an 11-1 victory over Kalani in the semifinals of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association tournament at Brigham Young-Hawai'i pool yesterday.

The Red Raiders face Roosevelt, a 10-3 winner over Kaiser, in the championship game today at BYUH. Kalani and Kaiser play for third. All four teams have earned state tournament berths.

Mariah Hall, Naomi Mochizuki and Lindsay Tanigawa each scored two goals for Roosevelt.

BIIF

• HPA, Waiakea in final: Regular season champion Hawai'i Prep and Waiakea will play today for the Big Island Interscholastic Federation championship today at Sparky Kawamoto Pool in Hilo.

Hawai'i Prep stopped Hilo, 10-9, and Waiakea defeated Kealakehe, 5-4. HPA and Waiakea earned state tournament berths.
