Avery Cavanah scored five goals and top-seeded Punahou raced to a 7-0 first-period lead and never looked back in rolling past third-seeded Hawai'i Prep, 15-0, last night in the semifinals of the HHSAA/Local Motion Girls Water Polo State Championship.

In the second semifinal match at the University of Hawai'i's Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex, Kamehameha romped past Kahuku, 14-3.

Punahou and Kamehameha will meet in an all-Interscholastic League of Honolulu final tonight at 7 p.m.

Hawai'i Prep and Kahuku will play for third place at 5:45.

In other matches today, Kalani and Kaiser play for seventh place at 3:15, and Roosevelt and Waiakea play for fifth at 4:30.

Kamehameha led 5-3 at halftime, then outscored Kahuku 9-0 in the second half.
