Creighton (No. 13 and 14th-seeded, 13-4-1) senior goalkeeper Andrew Brown (Mililani '00) has started 12 games, after overcoming an injury earlier in the season. Brown has a 1.23 goals against average with 34 saves.

Southern Methodist (No. 2 and seventh-seeded, 15-3-1) junior midfielder Duke Hashimoto (Iolani '02 of Kapolei) is out for the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Women's Tournament

Two players from Hawai'i are still in the hunt for the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship.

Princeton junior defender Romy Trigg-Smith (Punahou '02 of Kailua) started for the Tigers, who defeated Villanova, 1-0, in double overtime in a second-round match.

Her shot at the 6 minute, 31 second mark hit the post.

Trigg-Smith scored in the 48th minute in a 5-0 win over Central Connecticut State in the first round for Princeton, one of 17 teams playing in the Division I tournament for at least the sixth straight season.

The seventh-seeded Tigers play their Sweet 16 match against Boston College on Saturday.

Duke freshman Allison Lipsher (Punahou '04 of Hawai'i Kai) recorded three saves in a 3-0 upset of second-ranked Virginia in a second-round match.

The shutout for Lipsher is her eighth of the season, which ranks fourth in the Duke record book.

"I thought Allison played exceptional in goal behind our very strong back four," coach Robbie Church said on the school's Web site. "Her presence was great. She was in the zone and we knew that it would take a great effort for Virginia to score and that relaxed us a lot more, too."

Duke plays UCLA on Saturday in the Blue Devil's fourth NCAA tournament Sweet 16 appearance and first since 1996.

Lipsher had four saves in a 2-1 win over Virginia Commonwealth in the first round.
