Punahou's passing game pounds Pac-5

Quarterback Brett Kan passed for 272 yards and four touchdowns to lead Punahou over Pac-Five, 35-2, yesterday in Interscholastic League of Honolulu interdivisional football at Aloha Stadium.

The Division II Wolf Pack (3-6-1, 0-5-1) scored late in the second quarter when a Punahou snap from punt formation rolled into and out of the end zone for a safety that made it 28-2 at the half.
An interception by Jay Angotti in the first quarter set up Punahou's first score of the game, a 13-yard TD run by running back Zac Yamagishi. Ostrowski's 16-yard TD catch later made it 14-0 after the first quarter.
An interception by linebacker Tysan Pa'aga set up Kan's 61-yard TD pass to Ostrowski, who later caught the 30-yarder to make it 28-0.
Punahou added to its lead in the third quarter on Kan's 49-yard TD pass to Matsumoto.
The Buffanblu committed 19 penalties totaling 165 yards. Among them were six holding calls. The Wolf Pack had eight penalties totaling 80 yards.

Receiver Miah Ostrowski had three of the TD receptions among his five catches that totaled 118 yards for the Division I Buffanblu (4-5 overall, 2-4 ILH). Ostrowski had TD catches of 16, 61 and 30 yards. Another receiver, Brian Matsumoto, had six catches for 119 yards, including a 49-yard TD reception from Kan.
