Memorial services to honor the Hawai'i-based Navy SEALs killed in last week's helicopter crash in Afghanistan will be held Monday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

The public is invited to pay its respects, said Cmdr. Jeff Bender, a spokesman for Naval Special Warfare Command in San Diego, which oversees the SEALs stationed in Hawai'i.

The ceremony at Punchbowl will begin at 10 a.m.

Three of the 16 servicemen killed in the crash were assigned to SEAL Delivery Team One at Pearl Harbor.

They are: Senior Chief Petty Officer Daniel R. Healy, 36, of Exeter, N.H.; Petty Officer 2nd Class James Suh, 28, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and Petty Officer 2nd Class Eric Shane Patton, 22, of Boulder City, Nev.

"This is an opportunity for the military, for teammates, friends and family and the public to extend their sympathies and honor their sacrifices to their country," Bender said.

A similar service will be held Friday for five SEALs assigned to SEAL Team Ten in Virginia Beach, Va., who died in the crash. The service will be held at Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base.
