Saddle up for the 12th annual Western Weekend, which celebrates the paniolo tradition and diversified agriculture, in Hono-ka'a on the Big Island.

Today there's an expanded farmers' market from 7 a.m. An Ag Fest of displays, demos, petting zoo and entertainment is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Isle favorite Melveen Leed makes a special appearance at noon.

The 50th annual Memorial Day Rodeo begins at noon tomorrow and Monday.

The Western Weekend commemorative button ($4) gets you in to the festivities, with the exception of the rodeo, which is $7 each day (free for keiki). (808) 933-9772.
