Promoters Shane Curtis and Paul Moor are putting on a different kind of New Year's Eve party this year — on the water. "Seeing the fireworks from the ocean is an amazing sight," Curtis said. "I wanted to give people this opportunity on a (New Year's Eve) cruise with live entertainment."

FireWater New Year's Eve Yacht Party: Fireworks from the Water is presented by Curtis and Moor, who also put on a sold-out yacht party last August. Guests 21 and older can celebrate on the 170-foot Ali'i Kai Catamaran. Check-in starts at 9 p.m. at Pier 5, on the diamondhead side of Aloha Tower. The boat leaves at 10:30 p.m.

DJs Mr. Nick and Mixmaster B spin on the first level, bands Pimpbot and Lovechile play on the second level, and Sean D emcees. Presale tickets are $40; it's $50 at the door. With VIP bottle service, you'll get a spot on the observation deck with a 360-degree view of the fireworks. Visit www.firewaterevents.com or e-mail firewaterevents@gmail.com.
