POCKET FULL OF MONSTERS

"In a universe where animals follow the lead of monsters in the fight for greed, power, life and death, it's hard to see who is the oppressed and who is the oppressor," say the artists behind Pocket Full of Monsters and their partners in crime, the Lightsleepers. "In the world of the Monsters, 'Eating Your Young' is the law of the land, and the young must get stronger to survive."

The legend translates into the art of the Peekaboo Monster show, going on now at the Lightsleepers Pop Up Store. The Lightsleepers, a collective of artists, musicians, b-boys and DJs, present this world of artistic expression on canvas with spray paint, oils and mixed media. The show ends Tuesday, so make sure to visit.

Lightsleepers Pop Up Store, 1311 Kapi'olani Blvd.; 222-9284, www.lightsleepers.net, www.beyondthepocket.blogspot.com.
