Another weekend, another super busy weekend at the Blaisdell Center. Here's what's happening:

  • The 29th annual Home & Garden Show will fill the exhibition hall with vendors offering tips and services from landscaping to interior design, from do-it-yourself projects to pest control.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. Admission is $5 general; $4 seniors, military and kids 7-12; free for keiki 6 and younger with paying adult.

  • Curious? Fascinated? Want to win a million dollars? "Howard Hughes — An American Icon" is a multimedia and memorabilia exhibit that aims to give viewers a bit of insight into the man. It's the collection of Jerry Bell, who worked for the billionaire.

And the million bucks? First Hawaiian Bank is sponsoring a promotion in which a finalist, drawn from all the names of attendees, will pick one of 200 money bags. Choose the right bag, and you win $1 million; wrong bag, a trip to Las Vegas.

    Hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Blaisdell's galleria. Admission is $10. 373-5758.

  • Take a Walk in the Country, the annual bash by The Makaha Sons and many special guests, begins at 4:30 p.m. today in the arena. If you love Hawaiian music — traditional and/or contemporary — this is where you'll want to be. Among the performers, besides the Sons: The Cazimero Brothers, Hapa, Daniel Ho and Herb Ohta Jr., Ho'okena, Fiji and Auntie Genoa Keawe.

There's hula, too, by Chinky Mahoe and Halau Hula 'O Kawaili'ula; and Olana and Howard Ai and Halau Hula Olana.

Tickets were getting scarce, but if you're lucky you can still score dinner-and-show tickets for $100 or upper-level seats for $15. www.makahasons.com, www.ticketmaster.com, (877) 750-4400.
