MUST-SEE: "ER," 10 p.m., NBC. James Cromwell, the towering (6-foot-6) character actor who charmed moviegoers in "Babe," is a bishop who is being treated and befriended by Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic). During the next three weeks, viewers will watch a man of faith face the urgency of death.

College Volleyball, 7 p.m., KFVE, Cal State-Northridge vs. Hawaii.

"Friends," 8 p.m., NBC. Here’s another of those extra-sized, 40-minute episodes planned to fight "Survivor." Tonight, Rachel hesitantly turns 30. Her friends, who are already there, flash back to their own 30th birthdays.

"Survivor: The Australian Outback," 8 p.m., CBS. Two people have been voted out so far. With just 14 survivors left, there’s a long way to go.

"CSI," 9 p.m., CBS. Prostitution is legal in Las Vegas, but murder isn’t. Tonight, Nick (George Eads) is the chief suspect when a prostitute he was with is found dead.

"Will and Grace," 9 p.m., NBC. Will starts a romance with a handsome sportscaster named Matt (Patrick Dempsey). There’s a catch, though: Will is openly gay, but Matt remains in the closet.

"Just Shoot Me," 9:30 p.m., NBC. Lucy Lawless, of "Xena" fame, guest-stars as a hooker. Elliott wants her to pretend to be a doctor, to make Maya jealous.
