Kapono, Makana on VH1 show

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Editor

Island entertainers Henry Kapono and Makana will be featured on VH1’s "All Access: Musical Paradise" show, taped at noon tomorrow at Duke’s Canoe Club at the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel for airing in the spring.

And two other cable programs also will be doing segments here soon.

The VH1 special will shoot additional segments at the Paradise Cove lu'au show and a deejay night at Wave Waikiki. Paul Hihipauli Jr., who has Hawaii ties, is producing the program.

Psychic Dayle Schear, a Hawai'i Kai resident, said that Lifetime Television, a cable network aimed at women viewers, will pick up a story from her "Psychic Within" book, with plans to tape here Feb. 3 and 4.

The episode will focus on a client, Marlies Von Laufer, who was seeking information on her mother, whom she believed had died 40 years before. Meanwhile, the producers of E! cable’s "Wild On" series will return to Hawaii for segments on the Big Island shortly. Ikaika Communications (739-6957) is assisting with arrangements.

"Wild On" visited Waikiki last year, with the shows drawing the network’s highest ratings, and producer Chad Gajadhar is seeking "cool, unique and wild things to shoot" for an hour-long program hosted by Brooke Burke.
