"Diana is the hottest thing in the entertainment business today," said Stephen Bloom, executive director of the orchestra. "We are very pleased that we were able to come to terms on a third and final concert, and it certainly helps that she loves performing in Honolulu."
Krall is a Grammy Award-winning jazz artist whose piano and vocal stylings have enchanted both jazz and pop audiences. Her 1996 debut, "All for You," was her breakthrough effort, dedicated to the music of the late Nat "King" Cole Trio; it spent 70 weeks on Billboards jazz charts.
Her latest CD, "When I Look In Your Eyes," was the first jazz disc nominated for a Grammy as Album of the Year last year (she lost to Santana) but earned her first Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance.
Matt Catingub, pops conductor for the symphony, will be at the baton.
Tickets: $15-$55, on sale at the Blaisdell box office, all Ticket Plus outlets, military outlets, or online at www.honolulusymphony.com
