Supreme Court case will help Isles' poor
Justice Anthony Kennedy said for the Supreme Court majority that Legal Aid funding restriction was a violation of First Amendment free-speech rights. He said restricting the lawyers in advising their clients and in presenting arguments to the courts amounted to a distortion of the legal system. It's a welcome ruling, for the poorest and most vulnerable among us.

ADA decision sets a disturbing trend
The Americans With Disabilities Act, like other such legislation, came about because of concern that states were refusing to or unable to do right by their disabled population. It's for this reason that we keep a weather eye on the Rehnquist Court and the sovereign immunity doctrine.
