ALAN NALUAI, a member of The Surfers, whose onstage hilarity with the musical group often belied his vocal prowess, died of a heart attack Saturday at his Hawaii Kai home. He was 62. See story.

WILBUR ROYAL FERGUSON, 75, of Honolulu, died March 11, 2001. Born in DeWitt, Iowa. A lieutenant commander retired from the U.S. Navy. Survived by wife, Leslie; stepsons, Brent and Melvin Crispen; stepdaughter, Krista Babbit; daughter, Deborah Reed; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. RAYMOND CLIFFORD HELLSTROM SR., 78, of Atwater, Calif., died Jan. 30, 2001. Born in Chicago, Ill. A master sergeant retired from the U.S. Air Force and former federal protection officer in Fresno, Calif. Survived by wife, Emma; daughters, Candace, and Linda Gettel; son, Raymond Hellstrom Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Burris and Marjorie Roy; five grandchildren. Mainland service held. DANIEL SADAO HIGASHI, 70, of Anaheim, Calif., formerly of Wahiawa, died Feb. 2, 2001. Born in Naalehu, Hawai. Survived by wife, Betty; son, Bruce; daughters, Lauren Fong and Beth; two grandchildren; mother, Takiyo; brothers, William and Charles; sister, Mary Horie. No service.
