More local talk on war

By Jerry Burris
Advertiser Editorial Editor

Last week, The Advertiser featured essays on the prospects of war, from the perspective of members of our community editorial board, a diverse group of retired and active military, educators, business people, community volunteers and others.

Today, we continue that dialogue with a second set of essays, some arguing for the painful necessity of war, others arguing against it.

 •  U.S. must behave like a world leader
 •  Americans owe president full support
 •  Local firms need support in tough times
 •  Inspectors hold the power to stave off war
 •  U.S. must feed its industrial oligarchy
 •  U.S. must strike Iraq before next strike hits us
