Retirement agrees with former University of Hawai'i athletic director Hugh Yoshida, who reeled in a 52-pound king salmon off Sitka, Alaska, on June 22.

"It was bigger than all the fish I've caught together since I started fishing," said Yoshida, 64, who retired from UH two years ago and began fishing as a youngster on Kaua'i.

It took more than 35 minutes to bring in the fish. He rated it one of his biggest accomplishments since getting June Jones to coach football at UH.

"They're both winners," Yoshida said.
