Great job! I was extremley impressed by all the wonderful well wishes you had by people all over the U.S. Being the wife of a Baseball Coach of (15 yr. olds) I know the hard work and dedication that all you put in. The comments left about your teams' character says ALOT. Also, having Hawaiian family (via-my best friend) makes me even prouder. Ho`omaika`i!

I have been umpiring youth baseball for the past 18 years, From Little League to Pony to Cal Ripken. Through those years I have witnessed tremendous talent in all those leagues. But when I first got to umpire Leighton's team back 2002 when they were just 9 years old. I knew these kids were something special. The amount of talent that was concentrated in one age group is something you do not see often, plus having a coach that kids will do anything for. Understanding the achievment West Oahu has accomplished is deeper then it looks. In regards to this team, they were restricted by boundries, restricted by rules. No outside influence just pure Little League, pure Ewa Beach, A Pure World Champion!!! Me and Derwin told you, "get past the regionals the World would be yours" Congratulations

I am the President of the Village Park Community Association who donated all the banners for the Mayor's Parade. I followed the games as much as I could but watched the winning game...and was the only one in my block that was screaming when you tied the game and then won.
As a parent of 4 children, 2 boys (now men) who played baseball and football and whose uncles are coaches, I was sooooo proud of our local kids who showed the world that we have class A kids who demonstrated great sportsmenship, attituded, and respect.
I know you must have heard it all, but KUDOS to all who were responsible for this fine "GROUP OF YOUNG MEN".
BEST WISHES FOR A GREAT NEW YEAR!!

This congratulatory message is way overdue.
Boys you are an inspiration to little boys all
over the world.
Even in American Samoa and the
Independent State of Samoa.
Michael and Vonn, "Malo fai o le faiva"...please
ask an elder to explain the expression to you.
I am Samoan but I was born and raised in
Hawaii and I cried when I saw the boys on the
news after they won!
Just to let the coaches and the boys know...I
have read countless articles all about the big
win and all the celebrations that followed.
I even wrote an article for Samoa News.
You guys are the best and have the title to
prove it. Be good boys.
Love from American Samoa.

Being raised in Ewa Beach on Ewa Beach Raod and playing Little League when it was played at the Beach Park and Ewa, I was very proud of not only the wins but the class you showed on the field. Believe me when you hear you had the whole state behind you because you did. I watched the games with my sons and we were all cheering for you. I saw you play last year against Kihei and told the Kihei coach next year this will be the team to beat. I just want to congratulate the champs for their victory. Even though im not Hawaiian, I was rooting for them like crazy! I am from the Micronesian island of Kosrae. My sisters and I were screaming like i dont know what when they would be playing. Sometimes the neighbors would be peeking through our windows to see what was going on! It just seems that at times like this, all Islanders, no matter which island exactly they are from, come together and have pride for the champions!

Mahalo Nui Loa! My husband and I were coaching the West Oahu Yankees Jrs Division League in Ewa Beach and sat on as board members as well. We just relocated back to the mainland 4th of July. Imagine our surprise when the coaches at home called us to tell us the boys were in the mainland and playing for the World Series! We watched every game, I think the entire neighborhood heard us shouting and cheering as we watch the coaches and OUR BOYS take each and every game. Please know that we are very very proud of all of you. We miss Hawaii very much and especially the Fantastic Baseball Program that we have in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

If I could draw a sign on this, it would read "West Oahu - Little League, Big Difference". What a difference your team has made: - to the athletes and coaches in Hawaii, your determination to get your goal has inspired them; - to our youth, you've energized them to accomplish more than they thought they could ever dream of; and - to everyone in Hawaii, you've magnified the Spirit of Aloha in each one of us. We're so, so proud of you. Thanks for making that Ripple in Little League Baseball, Ewa Beach, West Oahu, Hawaii and the World!

Boy watching the game on Sunday really brought back a lot of memories. In 2000 and 2001 Aiea Little League Junior Division went back to back and won the World Series in Taylor Michigan. In 2001 same thing Aiea tied Venezuela in the 7th inning and won with a solo home run in the 8th inning. Thank you for a wonderful game. Good luck next season.

It's a wonderful feeling of victory and can't stop reading about it and to top it off, there's a Ka'u connection all the way in Ewa Beach. I'm glad that the boys families and friends were able to join them in PA though Myron quit his job(something I'm not surprised he did) it was well worth it. I have never had so much pride in being from Hawai'i then when I did watching you guys play. You all have taught us so much as to how to represent our state in a positive way. I don't know if it even sank in yet that you guys are THE WORLD CHAMPS. How nutz is that! You guys were humble and let your emotions come out only in your play, which is something that even the pros can't do. The best part of it is that each and every one of you, players and coaches, contributed to this championship. That showing of 'ohana is just remarkable. You guys are on top of the world. I flew up here to New York to get back to college, and your pictures were on the front pages of all the newspapers, even USA Today. Continue to pursue your dreams, you've already achieved this, imagine the possibilities

Congratulations! Ewa Beach No Ka Oi! It was a real pleasure to watch you guys on TV and watch a real class act! You can be #1 with class and dignity and you don't have to have a championship trophy to show it! But fortunately good things to come to those who work hard for it! Congratulations again to Ewa Beach and State of Hawaii! I hope you lend some of the your magic to UH! Go Bows!

Because of my good friend Sheila in Waipahu, I was fortunate to take in one of the best baseball games of all time! My husband and I enjoyed the Saturday & Sunday game- the 6th inning was a thriller! My husband gave me the high-five sign and we were so happy for you all! We are from the other side of the United States in Maine, but my heart belongs to Hawaii. You made everyone very proud...You are the champions!!!

CONGRATULATIONS..Team: What a wonderful job representing our state & nation, and what a wonderful example for those who follow you. To go down in history is a very huge accomplishment, and watching you do it was soooo very exciting. I literally could not sit down. My stomach hurt with all the butterflies, but you took it in stride not as little leaguers, but as professionals. Savor this time for you deserve it. Thanks, Coach. A beautiful job.

I would like to congratulate each and every one of you on a journey that literaly took you to the top of the world. Like many of us that watched you capture this title, we celebrate an achievement that will live with you for a life time. As I watched you play, I was amazed at your dicipline, talent and how much fun you were having. You represented the state, a district and most importantly each and every one of your families. I am so happy for you and your families. You made so many people proud in so many ways. Most of all, I want to thank you for bringing an entire state together. You have more power than you know. Just one more note, I too would like to help with a donation to the little league but more so, to a college fund for these boys. I know these families also took a hit financially with unpaid leave so if there is fund for them I'd donate to that also. My heart goes out to the family who now need to pay the bills! Trophy's don't put food on the table. It's about time we put our money where our mouth is. Set up a fund for the families that travelled. Have Coach Aliviado oversee the fund since he did a good job with the kids he'll be sure it gets to where it is needed. Let us know where and when it's set up. Mahalo....

Wow, what a ride. I was on Oahu when these boys won the game that shook Hawaii more than a 9.0 earthquake. I am now at home and reading the tributes and articles it brings tears to my eyes to know the expressions displayed is what Aloha is all about. My Aloha to the the world champs from Ewa Beach! Work hard, play hard and keep your "cool" under fire. You have made Hawaii, Hawaiians living outside of Hawaii and the rest of the country very proud of your accomplishments. When I saw these boys chanting USA,USA in the sixth inning, I knew these boys had it in them and they knew the magnitude of the game. It no longer was Ewa Beach but USA,USA! It warms my heart to see these kids grab hold of opportunity and take command. You did your ohana, Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Hawaiians at heart proud.

NOW HIT THE BOOK!
Awesome performance!!! You are the Best. What I like the most is the Good Sportsmanship you all showed. Most coaches would have been broken after that call. I like your good team spirit, your great attitudes, and the great respect you showed. Vonn Feao for showing apologetic and shaking the hand of the person you hit with the ball WAS GREATER than all the home runs you made and your gutsy pitching in the seventh inning. I believe every single person in your team would have done the same. You have been taught well by your coaches and your parents. It just unreal. Well, it’s REAL NOW. You represented all the small islands in the Pacific.

I am a transplant Honolulu resident and can’t help but SMILE and praise the ‘EWA BEACH Little League team for a JOB WELL DONE. My home felt like an earthquake hit it when ALL of you won that game on Sunday. Hilo went wild. It sounded like someone won a Million $$ on my street. We all watched and from house to house you could hear the excitement all over Hilo town. There are NO words to explain the feeling we all got talking about your win around town. It seems like everyone in Hilo watched your game and if they didn’t well… they missed a great show of ALOHA and PRIDE. You made HAWAI’I proud and most of all you made ‘EWA BEACH the place that everyone wanted to be from.
Thank you to Coach Aliviado for keeping the boys well grounded and for helping to make their dreams come true.

I am so far away. But I feel so close to the people of Hawaii and more so proud to be from Hawawii, thanks to the all the young men from Ewa Beach and their coaches. When my brother called my mother and I on sunday from Kapoli to tell us to watch the LLWS, We were so excieted to see that the boys of Ewa Beach were in that championship game. I am a member of the Ferternal Order Of Eagles here in Shoreline, Wash and that day I was heading to the club hoping the game was still in early innings. When I got there I was so happy and proud to see that everyones eyes were on the boys of Ewa Beach. It made me feel so good to know that everyone there felt the same joy that I was feeling. Aloha Champions: When you won the title, you not only made Ewa proud, but Hawaii, the nation, and the world. It was evident that your families' and coaches' number one priority was not to just bring home a title, but more importantly to bring home a team, title or no title, who could hold their heads up high, spirits intact. It was the love and nurturing of your family, the wisdom and guidance of your coaches, and your hard work and determination that made you into the undefeatable team that you are today. Don't be surprised that the next time you look into their eye, you see a sparkle. It's called pride, and you put it there.

CONGRATULATIONS, on your recent achievement; Little League World Series Champions!! You "Sons of Hawaii," have brought back the pride of a people, as well as, a nation, by your outstanding performances and by simply being yourselves. You should be proud of yourselves because I know all of Hawaii is certainly proud of you. You showed the world what the true Warrior spirit is that comes from growing up in the islands; "Bring it - Hawaiian Style!!" I'm proud of my heritage, and the people I represent while being in the military. But, watching you perform, play as a team, and the character you displayed, made me even prouder to be from Hawaii! Also, Congrats and Mahalos to the Coaches, families, and friends for your hard work and awesome representation!! Hawaii rules!!!

this was perhaps the most amazing game, little league or otherwise, that i've seen in awhile. to come back in the sixth was one thing, but vonn's pitching in the seventh? just unreal.. and there can't be anything greater than a walk-off hr in extra innings, by michael.. i get chicken skin everytime i think about it!!

What an AWESOME game those kids played!
Everyday I enjoy watching the kids play sports in Hawaii. They come to the playing fields: parents, children, coaches, supporters, etc. Tremendous efforts and sacrifices are part of thier everyday life. Truly, a great victory is all respects.
For myself, I've never felt so PROUD to see Hawaii represented by the solidifying spirit of family, country, and sportsmanship. This is definetly a lesson for all ages.

Congratulations to a fine group of young men and their coaches, supporters, and ohana! As a dad and assistant coach to my 11-year old son's team, I was really impressed with the great skills, joy of playing and determination you showed. For some reason, I just knew you would come back in the 6th, and to see Michael's homer in the 7th was a thrilling moment. Hats off to a fine Curacao team as well for a terrific battle and both teams showed great sportsmanship! We were in O`ahu on vacation visiting relatives last week and got to read a little about the team so it was even more sweet to see you win the games Saturday and Sunday on TV. Keep playing and loving the game of baseball!

Congratulations !
In a time where the majority of sports headlines are so negative - it is nice to see a bunch of gratious, well mannered athletes play a sport for the "Pure - joy" of playing and enjoying the feeling of being a member of a "team". These kids can teach alot of the "over-paid" athletes a thing or two about character. It just goes to show good parents + good environment = great children.
Plus - it's great to see a small town live the dream of the "little-league World series. You made all of us "Mainland- Hawaiians" proud.

Congratulations on a great accomplishment. . .World Champions! I'm especially impressed with the way coach Aliviado handled the controversial missed call in the third inning. Not a single word to the umpire. . .you just stayed focused on your players and the task at hand (unlike some of the other coaches). A true sportsman and a real class act. Your actions and character transcended onto your players. My hats off to all the players, coaches, parents, ohana, and supporters. You've made all of Hawaii very, very proud.

THANK YOU Ewa Beach players and coaches for such an enjoyable, thrilling, and baseball treat towards your historic and gallant achievement. ESPN Commentators compared some your play to Major League allstars. Highlights to remember:
- Beniaga's longball to beat Lousiana to advance
- Aliviado's backhand stab of a ground hard liner
- Enos'charging scoop and throw out of the speedster Propar at first
- Ty's crucial bunt down 3rd and Feao racing home under the catcher's tag
- Feao's untouchable 7th inning
- Memea rounding the bases and coaches/teammates jumping for joy at home plate (and I'm sure across the islands as well)
Unbelievable!!! Congratulations Hawaii and 2005 World Champions!!!

Hey, my bruddahs! Congratulations on da BIG win!! I couldn't believe it when I saw that MIGHTY EWA was in the World Series! I played baseball in Ewa Beach, from 1962 to 1969. I never met any of you, but you have made all ex-Ewa players SO proud!! Once I found out my brahs were in it, I couldn't stop watching the series! Excellent play; great coaching! Mahalo to all for making da Ewa boyz proud!! Who evah said, "nevah in Ewa??" No mo'dakine!
What makes this even more special for me is that I came to O'ahu over Christmas for my 50th birthday. I had my 4 kids with me. I took them all over Ewa, Ewa Beach and Waipahu. If ever in your life, things get hard, or you face huge challenges, please look back at this incredible experience and draw strength from knowing all that you have accomplished, and all you can do. The sky is truly the limit for all of you, and I hope to hear about all your amazing accomplishemnts later in life. I'm hoping that a Hawaii film maker will make a movie about the kids from Ewa Beach, the incredible sacrifices the families and coaches made, the generosity of friends, the journey to make it all the way to PA, and how they won it all. Congratulations to the West O’ahu Little League World Champions! Way to Go! Not only to the players but the coaches, parents, family and friends as well. The world now knows of Ewa Beach and its famous residents. My wife and I were residents of Hawai’i and couldn’t help but root for the local team. We were hanging on every pitch during the championship game and agreed it was one of the best sporting event we have ever witnessed. Funny, the little leaguers were asked who were their favorite player in the majors, all my favorites belongs to one team - The West O’ahu Little League World Champions!

Job well done. Great coaching and playing. The boys from Ewa Beach showed composure and poise. Great sportsmanship shown from all the boys. Few tough times, but their composure and sportsmanship stepped in. That's how they won. They never let the other team get to them. They showed the Hawaiian spirit and pride. Straight Hawaiian boys (easy and laid back). They never let anything bother them. GREAT JOB GUYS AND COACHS

Congratulations West O'ahu Little League on a phenomenal season. When a loss to Curacao seemed imminent, you guys dug deep within yourselves and believed you could still win. And you did! As a local, now living in the Mainland, it makes me feel so proud to say that I am from Hawaii, born and raised, and yes.....our islands, out in the Pacific, often times thought of as backwards, or behind the times, can produce World Champions such as yourselves. Walk tall and be proud but humble in your accomplishments this year. There is no need to boast. You proved yourselves on the ballfield. Once again, congratulations players and coaches of West O'ahu Little League. World Little League Champions of 2005!!! Amazing!

Congratulations from the bottom of my heart.Mahalo for bringing your beautiful Aloha spirit with you to Pennsylvania. The inner beauty and spirituality, of the Hawaiian people, surely did shine through the players and coaches.Coach Layton showed gentle love and compassion to his team as he reassured two young men during the game with his telling them "no problem, no problem".
What a blessing to see Vonn give glory to our Lord and be an outstanding witness of a true christian in front of millions who were watching the game. I am an O'ahu Specialist & with each of my five familiarization visits to O'ahu I fell more deeply in love with your island and your people.I would like the address to mail the news from our local newspaper. As a team mother who was involved in my sons(3)little league days, 40 years ago, and now as a grandparent, I still felt the excitment of the game watching you play with pride - the Hawaiian Pride. I had chicken skin and tears in my eyes and had faith in all of you. We never gave up on you. Coach Aliviado, you showed class throughout the world, and the love you showed the boys, without yelling at them. You are a man of few words, but just by watching you giving signs to the boys and they following through with it, showed that you are a great coach and the boys respect you for that. Lastly, I have great admiration for the parents who were able to travel with their sons. Sitting out on those stands and cheering for your sons are the greatest gift you can give them. Congratulations!

Know this...you boys made baseball fun & worth watching again for a lot of people. It wasn't about the million dollar salaries, endorsement deals, & the bad attitudes that sadly comes w/MLB. It was about the good of the game & that's how it's supposed to be. FUN...Pure & Simple! Keep that passion inside you always.

I did not miss one inning of any of your Little League World Series games and was extremely impressed with your overall play and team confidence. After watching you guys for the past two weeks and coming back in the championship game, you were clearly the best team in the World, let alone Hawai'i. From up and down the lineup, this was a true championship team, Hawaiian style. Congrats and the championship game should definitely be nominated for the ESPY's best game. Great job Coach Aliviado!

I always like to watch the Little League playoffs because it is baseball in its finest moments.
Every kid played baseball and played it because it was fun.
Your team was the best I ever watched the cool headedness of your coach was amazing most other coaches would have been jumping up and down screaming at the questionable call. That showed me that this team knew what was important.true sportsmanship.
The last game was without a doubt the best Little League playoff game I have ever seen.
You have bought the world's attention to Hawaii congratulations to a fine team and Aloha to your families and coaches who supported you .

Congratulations!! Simply an incredible performance and probably the greatest Little League World Series Championship game ever.
When the team wasn't able to score any runs after having the bases loaded and no outs in the first it would have been natural to dwell on the missed opportunity. When there was a bad call on the tag near homeplate which allowed two Curacao runs to score it would have been easy to lose hope. With just a half inning remaining while being down three runs many would be inclined to accept defeat.
This inspirational team from Ewa Beach did none of that. The way that they persevered was the ultimate statement that they deserve to be World Champions which unlike professional sports is truly a fitting title. Hawaiians around the world couldn't be prouder.

I was born in Honolulu, although I live in New York. I have been following West Oahu since midway through the series. I couldn't watch the Ripken title game, but stayed up late Saturday night until I got the score before going to bed. That only meant that I HAD to watch the series finale on Sunday. I felt so bad for the boys when the team went down by three. I started coming up with the usual optimistic stuff--well, it's great that they got this far. That kind of thing. Who would have thought that this team had the never-say-die attitude that tied the game in regulation and won it in overtime. All my friends and I here in New York have been talking about the game all day. Great stuff, Hawaii. You've done yourselves proud and will have a memory to last you the rest of your lives.

As a former island boy and baseball player myself, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the boy's from Ewa beach perform so well in the LLWS. Your pride, your smarts, your discipline, your respect, and your talent won over the nation. Congrats to the players, the coaches, and the parents and relatives for making this happen. Congratulations Team Ewa.You really made Hawaii proud. On Sunday,I went golfing with my dad at Olomana. Before we teed off, we watched the game in the clubhouse. The score was 6-3 and I had to setup for our tee shot,I didn't feel like golfing because the score was 6-3 in the last inning,I was really bummed. Then somebody in our group got a phone call saying the score is all tied up.I got really pumped up and slammed my tee shot about 275yards down the fairway.I felt like VONN FE'AO&MIKE MAMEA.Then we got to the fairway for our second shot, and we heard everybody screaming from the clubhouse. We all knew that the big boys from Hawaii had won the game.My next shot was smooth, just like SHEYNE BANIAGA&ALAKA'I AGLIPAY's swing,it landed right by the hole for an eagle. Thanks boys for the insiration.

You showed the everyone who watched the last 3 games that we do more than just live in a beautiful state, but we have pride in what we do and who we are.

We just love your "neva give up" attitude, especially against the set backs such as the umpires bad call when he missed the tag that everyone else saw. Hi, guys!: Wished you well after your triumph over Lafayette, LA, and now you've done it in its entirety....Way to go!! I've never seen a Little League team hang as tough as you did, and certainly never seen any players as disciplined at the plate in waiting for the right pitches to swing at/and laying off the "bad" ones....as good, or better, than many major leaguers! Again, congratulations on your victory; apply the same effort to all you do in life, and success will not bypass any of you...Sincerely, Alan

Unfortunately we lost the Regional Final and didn't make it to Williamsport. I always believed that one day, a team from Hawaii would take the title. Winning teh title was just awesome, but I bet jumping in the pool was almost as sweet...

What a great series! My family and I watched every min of your march to greatness. Kids, you all showed such composure, class, fortitude and aloha. Even when the chips were down you never gave up. Coaches, great job! You showed these youngsters what true class is. No yelling, swearing, shaking of heads. You all were there for the kids from start to finish. I, as an adult, am humbled by what happened. You showed the world that when all looks darkest there is still light at the end of the tunnel. To all, may God bless you throughout your lives.
