The man who oversaw Moloka‘i Ranch’s transformation into an ecotourism attraction is leaving Hawai‘i to take a real estate development job in South Carolina.
James Mozley has been president and chief executive officer of Moloka‘i Ranch for the past six years. He was with the company for nine years after serving as vice president and general manager of Amfac/JMB Hawaii’s Maui properties.
He joins Crescent Resources Inc. to help the company with its development of second-home and resort communities.
Scott Whiting will become Moloka‘i Ranch’s new chief executive. Whiting has been the company’s vice president and in-house counsel for four years.
The change comes as Moloka‘i Ranch’s owner, Singapore-based Brierley Investments Inc., is arranging for an outside partner to continue development of some of the company’s 56,000 acres on Moloka‘i.
Mozley said he will remain a director of Moloka‘i ranch and expects to make regular visits to Hawai‘i.
