The "Baywatch Hawaii" watch goes on.
A decision on the likelihood of a third season of "Baywatch Hawaii," which was expected yesterday, was postponed by the productions London-based owners, Pearson Television.
As of press time, a source at the local production offices of "Baywatch Hawaii" said staff members were still awaiting word from Pearson executives on whether work will continue for the programs 2001-2002 season, slated to begin this fall.
A new date was not given for the final word from Pearson Television on the globally syndicated series future, although a decision is expected this week.
Pearson Television is owned by German media giant Bertelsmann, which annually produces 11,000 hours of TV series, sitcoms and game shows in 35 countries worldwide.
The 11-year-old "Baywatch" series has filmed exclusively in Hawaii since its 1999-2000 season. "Baywatch Hawaii" is the states only locally based television series.
