Tip-Off
Fund-raiser planned for anti-abuse group

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Editor

Jimmy Borges and his Jazz All-Stars will perform at a wine-tasting fund-raiser from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the JMD Educational Center, 99-1269 Iwaena St. in Aiea.

The event is a benefit for Sisters Offering Support, a Hawaii-based nonprofit organization that combats commercial sexual exploitation of women and children through peer-based prevention, intervention, education and public policy reform. SOS helps women and children avoid recruitment into such abuse.

Borges will perform his usual smooth jazz; light pupu will accompany the wine-tasting.

The benefit is sponsored by JMD Beverages, the Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor and City Councilman John Henry Felix.

Tickets: $50.

Reservations: 941-5554.
