Man, 21, sought in abuse, thefts

Authorities yesterday were searching for a 21-year-old man wanted for domestic violence warrants and for questioning in several theft cases in the Waianae Coast area.

Police said Ernest Kamaka Keawe Jr. is known to frequent Waianae and other Leeward areas. Keawe recently was asked to leave his Farrington Highway residence and has no current address, police said.

Anyone with information about the thefts or the whereabouts of Keawe is asked to call Det. Bryan Loudermilk at 692-4411, or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.

Plant thievery suspect gives up

A fugitive wanted for questioning in the theft of more than 1,000 valuable plants from Waimanalo last month turned himself in to authorities on Monday, police said.

Rodney Gilbert Teixeira, 36, turned himself in to the Kailua police station after he saw that he was wanted on a CrimeStoppers news release, police said.

Teixeira was wanted for five warrants, including probation revocation as well as for questioning in the theft of plants worth $6,000 from Nalo Nursery, 41-890 Mahiku Place, between Jan. 22 and 23, police said.
