Kamehameha coach Kroeger reinstated

Advertiser Staff

Kamehameha coach Micah Kroeger, suspended last week after complaints from players and some of their parents, has been reinstated by the school administration and will coach the Warriors today when they play Damien in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Post Season Tournament game at 5:30 p.m. at Punahou.

A short statement from Kamehameha did not specify when Kroeger had been reinstated or give any other details. He missed one game and at least two practices while school officials investigated complaints about his treatment of players. The entire team boycotted practice Feb. 5, leading to Kroeger being placed on administrative leave.

Kroeger, 25, a former University of Hawaii standout player, is in his first season as a head coach.

If Kamehameha beats Damien it advances to the final of the ILH Post Season Tournament against the Mid-Pacific-St. Louis winner. That game will be at 7 p.m. at Iolani, with the winner getting the league’s third berth in next week’s state tournament. Iolani and Punahou already won berths.
