Makua training decision must be made at home
As the Army and Leeward Coast community struggle to sort out the issues surrounding live-ammunition training in Makua Valley, both sides would do well to remember Kaho'olawe. That case taught us that if we cannot make the right decisions at home, someone somewhere else will make them for us.

Columbia Inn: Aloha to a friend and neighbor
In an era of theme restaurants and theme food, the Columbia Inn under the cheerful (sometimes zany) watch of former owner Fred Kaneshiro and his family was an anomaly. Over the years, a lot of tall tales were told in the Columbia Inn, a lot of family meals enjoyed and a lot of memories made.
