Wendell and Linda Elento of Kailua celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a private dinner on Dec. 15, 2000, at Hale Koa Hotel, and a family celebration on Dec. 16-17, 2000, at Puu Kahea Baptist Conference Center in Wai‘anae. The Elentos were married Dec. 15, 1990, in Wai‘anae, and have three children — Kendell, 7, Matthew, 3, and Jason, a newborn. Wendell Elento is a sales representative.

Albert and Anna Yasuhara of Kea‘au celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a luncheon hosted by their granddaughters — Christine Yasuhara and Lehua Parker — on Dec. 23, 2000, at Natsunoya Tea House. The Yasuharas were married Dec. 22, 1940, in Hilo, and have four children and six grandchildren. He is a retired minister and store manager. She is a retired nurse’s aide.
