Isle hotel occupancy highest in decade
A survey of Hawai'i hotels says occupancy and room rates hit decade highs last year, but less spectacular results are predicted this year because of economic concerns.

State jobless rate stays on low side
For a second consecutive month, Hawai'i's jobless rate remained at its lowest in nine years and held below the national average, a sign that the state's economic recovery is strengthening.
State's leading indicator declines
Hawai'i's monthly economic scorecard, based on indicators from last October, has shown another decline, state researchers said yesterday, suggesting that economic growth should continue to cool through the next several months.
American increases fee for ticket changes, too
Airline watchdogs say major carriers are likely to follow Continental Airlines in raising fees for flight changes on nonrefundable, advance-fare tickets to $100. American Airlines followed suit yesterday.
