Advertiser Staff

Honolulu Board of Water Supply crews this morning were fixing three broken water mains in Waikiki and Mapunapuna that cut off water to one apartment building and three businesses.

In Waikiki, a water main broke on Kaiulani Avenue between Ala Wai Boulevard and Cleghorn Street at about 4 a.m. The break affected a nearby apartment, but did not affect traffic, a water supply official said.

In Mapunapuna, crews were repairing two broken mains on Kilihau and Kakoi streets that affected U-Haul Co. and Goodwill Industries of Honolulu Inc. on Kilihau Street and Oahu Express Inc. on Kakoi Street.

The Kilihau break occurred at 2:28 a.m. and the Kakoi break occurred at 3:45 a.m. The roads remained open while repair crews fixed the breaks, a water supply official said.
