The Captain and Tennille, a hot pop duo of the 1970s, will reunite for the Honolulu Symphonys next Honolulu Pops concerts, at 7:30 p.m. March 23 and 24 at Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Toni Tennille will be a guest soloist with the orchestra. The Captain, Daryl Dragon, is coming out of retirement for the show.
As the Captain and Tennille, the duo scored a string of hits such as "Love Will Keep Us Together," "Muskrat Love," "Do That to Me One More Time," "You Never Done It Like That," "Shop Around" and "The Way I Want to Touch You."
For Tennille, the concerts also will be a reunion with Matt Catingub, principal pops conductor of the Honolulu Symphony. The two are close friends.
Besides her pop hits with former husband Dragon, Tennille has recorded five albums of love standards and big band tunes.
Kapena, the popular Hawaii-based act, will be on the bill, too.
Tickets: $55, $40, $30, $25 and $15, on sale at the Blaisdell box office, the Honolulu Symphony box office and all Ticket Plus locations, including Tempo Music stores and Foodland and Sack N Save markets.
