Jazz Blowout set for March 31-April 1
Some of Hawai'i's top jazz artists will assemble for the Fifth Annual Great Hawaiian Jazz Blowout from 2 to 10 p.m. March 31 and from noon to 8 p.m. April 1 at Bakken Hall, on the Mid-Pacific Institute campus.

Guests highlight the Cazimeros' concert
Roland Cazimero played tuba while Robert Cazimero strummed guitar and sang on "Pane Mai." Robert's Gentlemen From Na Kamalei enacted a mesmerizing sit-down hula on guest artist Sean Na'auao's "Pua Lililehua" vocal, a tribute to the late Maiki Aiu Lake. Tehani Kealamailani Gonzado, the reigning Miss Aloha Hula, gracefully interpreted "Ku'uipo I ka He'e Pu'eone," while The Caz sang.

Ho'aikane re-issues CD of live performances
Hoaikane was one of Hawaii's seminal Jawaiian acts, quick to adopt reggae rhythms and apply that genre's contagious moods to the Island experience. This new release, the group's 10th, was recorded nine years ago over two sessions at Fast Eddie's nightclub in Kailua.

Cookies latest addition to poi snacks

Looks like poi is becoming the next li hing craze in the snack food world. With poi biscotti, bagels, English muffins, breads, rolls and even kiwi, coconut and banana flavored poi to squeeze from a bag, there seems to be a whole lot of poi products being produced. Newcomer to the lineup is Poi Cookies, crisp, light, shortbread-like cookies.
