Both the University of Hawaii men and women advanced to todays championship games with nine-point victories yesterday.
The Wahine (23-6) started the day, going to overtime to defeat Southern Methodist, 97-88.
The Rainbows (16-13), the tournaments fifth seed, followed by upsetting tournament top seed and 25th-ranked Fresno State, 76-67.
The Wahine play Texas Christian at 8:30 a.m. Hawaii time. The men play host Tulsa at 5 p.m. The womens game will be televised on Fox Sports Net 2 (Oceanic 24). The men will be on Fox Sports West (Oceanic 21).
"These guys engines have been started," UH mens coach Riley Wallace said. "When everybody got healthy and got out there and saw what they could do, they got revved up."
The Wahine, who trailed 34-28 at halftime, rallied behind Dainora Puida and Crystal Lee.
"The kids went out in the second half and performed," Wahine coach Vince Goo said. "They defended and they answered."
