More than 100 acres of former sugarcane and pineapple fields burned yesterday in a brushfire reported at 12:13 p.m. between Schofield Barracks and Waialua. Honolulu Fire Capt. Richard Soo said the fire line exceeded two miles. The blaze was controlled at 5:40 p.m. Parts of Kaukonahua Road were closed when the fire came close to jumping over the road.
