UH men, women reach WAC basketball finals
There will be a distinct Hawai'i flavor in Tulsa at the WAC basketball championships today. The Rainbow men's team upset 25th-ranked Fresno State, 76-67, while the Wahine beat SMU, 97-88, to reach the men's and women's finals, respectively.

Warriors hold off Pepperdine in five
In a display of bold defiance, the University of Hawai'i took third-ranked Pepperdine's best shots - 172, in all - and held on for a 33-31, 27-30, 30-21, 26-30, 15-13 men's volleyball victory last night in the Stan Sheriff Center.
Rice routs Hawai'i in baseball, 13-2
Nationally ranked Rice rolled over Hawaii, 13-2, at Rainbow Stadium last night as the Rainbows tied a school record with their ninth consecutive loss. The Western Athletic Conference baseball game was played before 1,340.

The University of Hawai'i softball team got shut out by Pacific, 2-0, then bounced back in the nightcap to blow out Western Illinois, 8-0, in Day 2 of the Malihini Tournament at Rainbow Wahine Softball Field.

A 23-6 record tells us the University of Hawai'i Wahine basketball team should now be as good as signed, sealed and delivered to a spot in the NCAA Tournament after yesterday's 97-88 overtime victory over Southern Methodist.
