Campaign dollars must be for the campaigns
Campaign money is not supposed to be used for private purposes (a family trip to Las Vegas, for instance) or even for perfectly legitimate public purposes (out-of-state travel on Council business, for instance). City Council member Rene Mansho must pay it back.

Councilman's stand doesn't make sense
John Henry Felix is a member of the Honolulu City Council, the body that passes the zoning laws and demands that they be enforced. That puts Councilman Felix in a terrible position if he expects his fellow citizens to obey laws passed by the Council.

Tax-cut bill sparks fever on Capitol Hill
If Congress must cut taxes, we hope it will adjust President Bush's package to make it fairer. The rich already are getting richer as the poor get poorer; they don't need this sort of help.
