Gunman, woman in Ala Moana shooting identified

A gunman apparently killed by police in an Ala Moana Center shootout and his female victim were identified this morning as Michell Udani, 26, of Mililani, and Cherry Ann Domingo, 25, from Waipahu.

The names were released this morning by the city medical examiner’s office, where autopsies on the two were to be conducted this afternoon.

The two were pronounced dead at The Queen’s Medical Center last night after being taken from the shopping center by ambulance.

The incident began shortly after 10 p.m. yesterday when a caller told police a man with a gun was arguing with a woman in a white Mercedes sport utility vehicle.

Police said the woman was shot in the Mercedes. It was parked in the lot on the second level of the mall on the ocean side of Liberty House. The male gunman fired a shot at a policeman arriving on the scene, and at other officers who fired at him, police said.
