My heart goes out to all of those wonderful and brave men that died. My brother is serving as a Corpsman at Kaneohe and there is not a day that I do not pray for him and everyone else that he works with. He will be shipped out in the coming months and I will make sure I keep him and every other man fighting for our country in my prayers. I pray that God will keep the families of these generous and brave men safe. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone serving our country at this time of need.
GOD BLESS!

I will never forget that day it will live with me for the rest of my life. For me to be they only one home and to be the one to answer the door. I will never get the image out of my head of the to Marines walking up the stairs, me opening the door, and just knowing my brother was gone. I had to call my mom at work and tell her to come home and I can remeber her saying " They are there, the marines are there. And I couldn't lie I had to tell her. I had to call everyone his older brother " My husband", his younger brother, everyone. How did I find the strenght? Matt gave me his strenght. I know it. And as I stood looking at my 7 month old daughter knowing Matt had never been able to meet her, or play with her. How could this be? How many more lives have to be lost? WILL IT EVER BE OVER?

We are saddened by your unimaginable loss. I spent the summers of my youth on Coconut Island watching the jets and helicopters land at the Kaneohe Marine Base, always looking overhead to see what kind of plane was flying, from which squadron, etc. I was once given the privilege of a base tour as a young boy. Then, as I'm sure is the case now, I met a very impressive group of guys.
May the families and friends of those whose lives were taken from us too soon find strength and peace.

Marylyn and I send our deepest condolences to the brave soldiers' families, the relatives of those who died for us in Iraq. As a youngster I spent summers on Coconut Island and looked toward the Kaneohe Marine Base every day and night. We toured the base early during the Vietnam War. Later I served in the USNR as a submarine medical officer on a Polaris sub. While I don't agree with the reasons we are in Iraq, I respect and admire those ordered to fight there. They are our sons and daughters doing their duty. May God bless them and you, the families who now grieve so deeply. There can be nothing worse than losing a son or daughter. May time and faith slowly heal your heart break.

The grief I feel over this latest tragedy is overwhelming. We owe so much to our military for protecting our freedom as Americans. As the wife on an Army soldier currently stationed in Iraq, my heart aches for those who are dying to make our world a safer place. Please support our military and remember that their sacrifices, and the sacrifices of their families, are not only freeing the oppressed people of Iraq, but to preserve our freedom as well.

First as a neighbor to the Base many years ago--then as a military dependent, then a survivor, Kaneohe Marine Base has been a part of our community and support for all my many years in Hawaii. We have seen many leave on regular safe missions, but too often our hearts are broken with news of the losses that our brave men and women endure through the many things they are called to do! These families are neighbors, friends and protectors of our country, who are called to give the ultimate sacrifice. We grieve for and with loved ones they leave behind who are a huge part of this "ultimate sacrifice". They bear the biggest burdens and suffer through their very real loss.Others will need healing with wounds, and unseen psycological demons..The aloha and prayers of Kailua are with you.

The best words of comfort we can offer is to point to the hope Jesus Christ bought and paid for that we may soon be together with all the ones we love in an even better world than this one. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy to the loved ones of these heroic Marines and Sailor. I served in 2/3 for four years and it is always painful to hear of the death of someone so close to home. I only ask that we continue to honor these Marines and the sacrifice that they made in the name of freedom. May our dear Lord be with you in your time of need. God Bless the USA!

very brave men. The war has hit close to home. I extend my
deepest thanks, honor and condolences to each and every family
member who has lost a grandfather, a father, a son, a brother, a

It is very sad and I don't know any other word. I lived in Hawaii back in the 80's most of my friends were in USMC station in Kaneohe.
When I looked at those picture of the Marines I had a flash back of the times being with my friends we were all about the same age back then. Its disturbing to me to think these Marines who died came from same area. I'd like to send my sympathy to all of the families and friends of those Soldiers.

truly only those who have experienced a tradgic loss, know the true meaning of sorrow. please rest assurred that the sacrifices that these heros have made will make a difference in the world. some say that we have no business transporting freedom to the rest of the world, that they are able to fend for themselves, but we know that sometimes this is impossible. when the UNITED STATES chose freedom amd democracy, we were the first country to do so. so I say to those now bearing their sorrow, your sadness is carried by all freedom loving peoples everywhere. May our gracious GOD give you peace.

I wanted to express my condolences to all the soldiers who lost their lives, but right now, especially to 1LT Nainoa Hoe, who was killed in Iraq on Saturday. Nainoa and I both went to Kamehameha Schools, although I graduated two years before him. We were both active in Army JROTC and the Na Koa Club. When I heard of his passing, it hit me pretty hard. I had to find this one picture I had of he and I after an FTX we both participated in. When I found it, I felt sad, because I remembered what a funny guy Nainoa always was. I'm sure I can speak for all of those former Na Koa members who knew Nainoa that he will be missed.

These men and women and their families, are true heroes. Their selflessness and sacrafice inspires me to live my life with greater meaning and purpose. It hurts when the person you sat next to in church or the mom who you were in PTA meetings with, is suddenly not there anymore...and I cannot imagine what a nightmare it is for their families. I only pray that the spirits and faces of our brave troops and their families resonate and lend wisdom to our President as he continues to make decisions that rock their worlds. These actions must feel worthy of such devastating losses. But no matter what, as this war continues, the people of Hawaii will be there in full force as a united community to support these families as they're left to deal with such tremendous grief.

It brings tears to our eyes for the fallen heros. While most Americans talk about being tough on terrorists, these were among the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines actually were tough on the terrorists. As a Teacher in the Hawaii Public School System, it was very crucial for me as an educator, friend, and most important, human being, to make sure my students understood what occured on this sad day for Hawaii's military forces. I wanted to make sure that my students felt the grief and sadness of this event which i'm sure many, many people in Hawaii felt. To show them that what we are experiencing in this seemingly, "never-ending" war, can effect us here nearly how many thousands of miles away. Although being in a public school setting, i recommended that they say a little prayer for those all affected and hope that one day this doesn't need to be one of them fighting a war which they might not be 100% supportive of.
God be with all of you and from the bottom of our hearts, Thank You!
