Small Business Hawaii is holding its 25th annual business conference today in the Hibiscus Ballroom of the Ala Moana Hotel from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to the public, but advance reservations are required. The Hawaii Manufacturing Extension Project is offering a workshop for small- and medium-sized businesses in Hawaii, Jan. 29-30 in Honolulu, and Feb. 2 on Maui. The workshop: "Lean 101: Principles of Manufacturing," will examine some of the biggest issues facing manufacturers today, including how to cut overproduction, wait time and other inefficiencies.
