Best Coffee Bar

Starbucks Coffee

Notable: In the land of lattes, Starbucks reigns with 30 stores in the Islands and three more scheduled to open in November (Aiea Shopping Center, Sears Ala Moana and Ohana Waikiki West Hotel). Local artists have been commissioned to create travel tumblers, T-shirts and mugs, among them Big Islander Mike Field, who created the “Wahine Wind” T-shirts.

Menu: Of course, you can get the complete range of multihyphenated coffees (“That’ll be a tall-decaf-low-fat-macchiatto with almond, please.”) and chai drinks. One standout: Mocha Coconut Frappucino (chocolate, coconut, coffee, milk, ice, whipped cream and more chocolate!), created by Natalie Aczon, a former Starbucks store manager here in Hawai‘i. It’s been so successful that the drink is now being served through the Mainland.

FYI: Multiple locations. Hours vary by location but most are open between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. No reservations. VS, MC, AX. No checks.
