Elderly tourist beaten in hotel robbery
A 81-year-old tourist from Canada is in critical condition at the Queen’s Medical Hospital following a robbery inside a Waikiki hotel bathroom this morning, police said.

State Hospital escapee arrested
A 55-year-old man who escaped from the Hawaii State Hospital on Sunday was arrested by North Shore police this morning in Wahiawa.

The Maui Fire Department this morning said firefighters have contained a blaze that has blackened roughly 700 acres of brush in West Maui between Olowalu and Launiupoko.
